In what purities is Vanadium available?

Despite its demanding metallurgical properties, we offer vanadium in several clearly defined purity levels. Our range includes products with a purity of 99.5%, as well as 99.9% and 99.9+%, reliably covering various requirements in research and development. The purity specifications refer to the respective metal powder, granules, pellets, foils, and turnings that we carry in our program.

Especially for analytical and material science applications, precise specification is crucial – and this transparency is the basis for every product description we provide. Alloy powders such as Ti-6Al-4V are also included in our range, complementing the offerings for technical application fields. Which Vanadium forms does ChemPUR offer?

The question of product form often lies between technical suitability and practical handling – and here we offer a wide selection for vanadium. Our range includes powders in various grain sizes (below 75 micrometers as well as -200 mesh), granules smaller than 3 mm, pellets in 6 × 6.35 mm format, and turnings smaller than 6.35 mm. Furthermore, we carry vanadium foils in thicknesses of 0.025 mm and 0.05 mm, available in various sheet formats from 50 × 50 mm to 100 × 200 mm.

Sputtering targets and evaporation materials are available for coating processes, as are rods and wires. For which applications is Vanadium used?

Does ChemPUR offer Vanadium nanopowder?

Even small quantities of nanoscale materials can make a decisive difference in research applications – through enlarged surfaces, altered reactivity, and adjusted sintering properties. In our current range, we carry vanadium powder with a particle size below 75 microns and a purity of 99.9+%, which is suitable for many powder metallurgical and reaction engineering purposes due to its fine grain size.

True nanopowders with particle sizes in the single or double-digit nanometer range are not listed in our standard range. However, as our product offering is continuously expanding and custom orders are generally possible, we recommend that you address your specific requirement directly to us. What distinguishes Vanadium from other elements?

The difference lies primarily in the unusual combination of high-temperature stability, versatility of oxidation states, and optical characteristics. Vanadium can occur in oxidation states +2 to +5, with each state exhibiting a different characteristic coloration in aqueous solution – a phenomenon used in analytics and teaching. The melting point of 1910 °C makes vanadium one of the refractory metals and predestines it for use under extreme thermal conditions.
