In which purities is nickel available?
At ChemPUR, nickel is available in multiple quality grades – from technical and standard laboratory purities to high-purity specifications for particularly demanding applications. Depending on the product form, the available range extends from 99% or 99.7% to 99.9% and 99.97%, up to 99.99% and 99.995%.
For applications with particularly stringent requirements for chemical purity, nickel pellets with 99.995% and a cobalt content of less than 10 ppm are available, for example. Powder grades are available, among others, at 99.9% and 99.99%, while nickel nanopowder is offered at 99.8%. Foils, wires, rods, and sputtering targets are also available in different purity grades. This allows you to select the appropriate quality specifically according to analytical requirements, process sensitivity, or material specifications. Which nickel forms does ChemPUR offer?
ChemPUR’s nickel range includes numerous physical forms so the material can be optimally matched to the respective process. For powder-based applications, nickel powders are available in various particle sizes, including grades with particles under 10 micrometers, -100 mesh powder, and nanopowder with an average particle size of 20 nm.
For compact or dimensionally stable applications, ChemPUR offers nickel as pellets, foils, sheets, wires, and rods. The foils are available in various thicknesses, including 0.05 mm, 0.125 mm, 0.25 mm, 0.5 mm, and 1.0 mm. Wires and rods cover different diameters and are suitable for technical, thermal, or structural applications. For thin-film processes, the range also includes nickel sputtering targets in various thicknesses as well as evaporation materials. Gauzes and electrolytic nickel plating baths expand the selection for electrochemical and surface-related applications. This allows the product form to be selected specifically according to particle size, geometry, surface, and process control.
What applications is nickel used for?
As a silver-white, corrosion-resistant transition metal of period 4, nickel is used in numerous scientific and technical fields. In thin-film technology and surface coating, nickel foils, sputtering targets, and evaporation materials are used, for example to produce electrical contacts or protective layers. Nickel powders and nanopowders are used in catalysis research as well as in the development of electrodes for battery systems and fuel cells.
In addition, nickel pellets are used as a starting material for electroplating and physical vapor deposition. Alloys such as iron–nickel or lanthanum–nickel are relevant for magnetic applications as well as hydrogen storage technologies. Is nickel delivered worldwide?

International shipping is carried out in compliance with the applicable transport and dangerous goods regulations to ensure safe, compliant delivery.
We also ensure that the required accompanying documents, such as safety data sheets and quality certificates, are available for customs and import processes. Depending on the destination country and product type, different export regulations may apply; we will inform you if required. How is the quality of nickel ensured?
Quality assurance for our nickel products begins with the careful selection of suitable manufacturers and raw material sources that meet defined purity standards. Each product is listed with precise purity information, supplemented by specific impurity parameters, such as the documented cobalt content of less than 10 ppm or less than 15 ppm for our nickel pellets 6 x 6 mm. In addition, information on particle size, specific surface area, and morphology—such as for nickel nanopowder with a specific surface area of 40–60 m²/g—is part of the product specification.
This provides you with a reliable basis for reproducible experimental results and secure process planning. We also provide accompanying certificates of analysis on request.
